I did it!!!!!!

Yeah I did it.....I braved the infamous Monday morning traffic of Mumbai local trains!!!
:)
Hmm...Have tried selling some merchandise to our college people for our annual event "Virtualities",but it seems budget could be a problem fingers crossed let’s see how it turns out...
By the way, Yash Raj Films, strategy of "shrouded" publicity and also releasing of only one trademark tune of their promising new flick Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year and it seems to be hitting off well with the people, I was just crossing the Dadar bridge and overheard this 14 yr old kid saying to his friend “Dude, whats in my pocket??” and pat came the reply....”ROCKET”....they burst out laughing and I smiled thinking of the role play one has to come up in their mind to actually innovate new strategies targeting your TG!!!...There was another instance where a DK publisher (the big fat encyclopedia, promised at 80% discount!!!)Salesman was selling his books to the public and he was ecstatically telling his other friends around about this movie which talks about the people in the sales field.......so yeah Rocket is catching up....half the battle won....for rest need to wait till 11th of Dec!!!
Today the work was all chilled, nothing hectic just co-ordinating around the fences....pushing and shoving the suppliers, locating new market base....
The scenes prĂȘt kool around....will be going to college for the first time this semester...and the thought itself is freaking scary and to top it up we have kickass lectures tomorrow....so yeah iam on the noose..........
FREAKY THOUGHTS!!!!!!

6th Sunday

Heya....Sunday was good ...saw PAA....nicely interwoven storyline and thank god...Balki showed his advertisement acumen by not losing his plot of progeria for politics or vice versa. He has learnt it from the advertisement world that whatever be the case, you shouldn’t lose the product and its USP and he followed the diktat to the T.
For a change the storyline was not of the regular routine plot of boys in school-harassing the protagonist-proves them wrong/wins a medal/beats them in their own field-good v/s evil blah blah.
For a change, the kids were acting their age as well as the actors....Vidya balan was amazing as an unwed mother of a child affected with the rare genetic disorder Progeria.Abhishek Bachhan was his usual kool self and was looking dapper in his white kurta but the talk of the town, the kid of the moment was and for sometime would be AURO,Auro was classically subdued absolutely nothing over the top and the best part was that he acted his mental age as well as depicted his physical age and was in a way Uber kool, what with his Chinese monkey dance(which is more amusing than hilarious),idiotic fascination for loo,his kool style of addressing his grand mum and the casual way of handling an MP!!!
The movie cannot be called as a cult classic flick as it gets into too many issues and does not stick to a single genre which is good as per the commercial aspect but otherwise it loses it steam mid way only to be brought back. If you have noticed all the cult classics, have addressed a single issue/genre through multiple methods, their narration style is totally different or they just stand away from the path regularly taken.
PAA is everything but above, it tickles your funny side for a moment and may be.....mayyyy be it tries working on your tear glands too much....it’s fun to watch and yeah the new trailer of 3idiots is the best trailer uptill now of the movie(3 idiots).
The reason I don’t mention Mr AMITABH BACCHAN in the review is for the simple fact that he did not make me realise I was watching the god of cinema on screen...it was absolutely 12 year old Auro all the way!!!!!!

Weekend learning....!!!

**Work Mantra::: Suppliers are supposed to be kept happy***

Hmm....Learnings/Happenings:

1) Boss is not around THAT IMPLIES Facebook/orkut/blogs/cricinfo/chitchatting with colleagues: P

2) Barclays event was kickass success, material recieved at 4 in the morning THAT IMPLIES Naseem went furious, vowed never to work with us.

3) Received orders for 75 mugs, sample to be delivered by evening, THAT IMPLIES You beat the shit out of suppliers for the sample.

4) Follow up with Dharmesh bhai and Shabbir bhai regarding delay of orders (reason: Guessed it right...US) THAT IMPLIES both are furious with the company.

5) Week Ends THAT IMPLIES
1) Tomorrow is Sunday
2) Horrific days come to a stop for a day.
3) Suppliers are Happy they wouldn’t be getting calls from ILOGO (they are so wrong!!!)
        4) We need to change our "Mantra"(look on top for it)
        5) We might just need to look around for another set of suppliers!!!
        6) Monday is going to start a little early..... Approx: Sunday noon!!! :D

Volkswagon Beetle's launch was super kool...Check out the multiple hoarding strategy adopted by VW to garner attention and boy it grabs more than just your attention!!!!!

1.Be a consignment of any magnitude,Friday is namaaz day for Naseem and most god fearing muslims!!!!
2.In Madanpura,Surf excel is sold in loose packets for about 12% of the MRP.....best part: People were still bargaining!!!
3.Murphy and his laws lurk in and around everywhere(The flight carrying our material got delayed for 14hrs...BEAT THAT!!)
4.Learnt embroidery by a japanese machine and swear its tough thingy..actually...weird!!!(Naseem can actually converse in broken japanese!!!! shame on me....!!! :P
5.When Sukku says "I might know"...he does not know....!!!
6.Sukku,Ashish,Amit and Naseem are all bad with directions.....(Together we all messed up the parcel)
7.On a Friday, when Ashish is fasting ........pleaseeeeee dont mess around much!!!(Testimonial by SUKKU)

hmm...thats about it i guess!!!

Dawn of an Intern....whoa....!!!

Heya....it was my first day of internship at ilogo, the pvt startup company and yeah what a day it was.....here it goes...
I was supposed to report to office at 1000hrs and dot i was there (surprise!!surprise!!!)...the Dadar-Kurla route was as usual choc-o-block with people or rather sea of people....but i managed to wriggle my way out ...i reached lokhandwala towers and was quite happy with the office setting and my workspace.
Amit(MD) did not waste a moment and tried fanneling work through my system,he introduced me to my guide/subordinate/help/GOD introducing THE Sukku!!!(i know...weird name!! :)).....Amit then briefed me about the events that we are supposed to handle and the point from which i will be taking over the reins for next 08 weeks.
There was this Barclays Capital event where all the top investment bankers of the company(India) are supposed to come together for a fun filled weekend comprising of a sailing expedition/competition for which they have hired 4 yatchs(trying to make sense to you,the magnitude of the event)....and yep we had screwd up the first batch of caps ordered, they did not turn out to be as expected and were to be replaced and I (with Sukku) had to go to the manufacturer and convince him to deliver the goods in this short span of time,simple???!!!...everything but simple!!...my first visit was to the embroidery man Naseem Bhai's place in Madanpura who takes care of the embroidered part of the cap and any other promotional item to be embroidered and hez one tech geek you cannot imagine exists esp looking at his 6*6 “factory” in a  place like Madanpura, hez got the latest machines for embroidery and he has all jazzed it up with wi-fi and gadgets you n i can only dream about...so it was quite a surprise to actually see a "bhai" speaking and living the filth have knowledge about the tech world atleast in his domain....After giving him instructions about the changed look of the cap for which he abused poor Sukku and Amit for delaying his work and not knowing what they were doin!!!

Soon after which I moved to the Crawford marketplace in CST area to buy a 2*1.3 mt of satin cloth for another of ICICI event to be held soon,i was admist cloth merchants in one of the biggest bargain house of India and tryingto get a deal that will save some change and make a value for money purchase,to which i did do justice(quite debatable),after the purchase i took the cloth to Dharmesh the designer/printer who does amazing printworks for us and soon between the weird gupshup with him we took the much needed chai break and then the call came....

Amit had this "brilliant" idea/wave of changing the color of the cap and embroidery to Barclays color(turquiose) and silver color respectively came and for that we had to speak to the cap supplier Shabbir bhai i.e. if he can get the material right away and start the work as well we would be sorted,to check on that i made a call to him and asked him the same to which he said...."dekho bhai, tumhara seth paisa utna hi deta hai par kaam jyada karata hai..wahi baat hai...jitne ka murga nahi utne ki masala rehta tum logon ko,par phir bhi tum log dil ke acche log toh ajao factory pe ...dikhata hun maal(cloth)" and after this amazing convo i was so not thrilled to go to his place but Sukku assured me of shabbir bhai being a cool dude and he would actually finish the deal quickly so i was like okie i need the work to be done anyways...so we head to this place called ******** and this place is like ringing in my ears cos i have come across this name somewhere very recently and lo when i reach the place a trumpet blows across my face...KAMATIPURA.....the area for eunuchs and CSW...god i was scared to the core and did not have guts to climb the stairs of the building,i stayed down and asked shabbir bhai to come down and show us the material which he gladly did...and actually shabbir bhai turned out to be real nice guy who knew what he was talking....after the shocker that was the area...
We went back to Naseems place to collect the embroidered samples of the Tshirt and caps which he had not done yet so i had to sit on his head and get him to do it so i could leave for the day, finally after good odd 45 min the samples were ready and absolutly according to our needs,Amit was glad the work got done and he asked me to leave there and guess what after such a tiring day i did not have the energy or the motivation to go back to my office and collect my bag!!!...i left Madanpura to Mahalaxmi to Dadar to Kurla to Vashi!!! phew...a long day indeed......

I would really think twice to buy a reebok jacket/bag or any other branded accessory for that exhorbitant price!!!!! especially knowing at what rate these things are made and the cut given to the karigars involved......!!!
I loved this day to the core, loved it for the simple reason that i was in Bombay for 6 months now but i had never visited these places(Mahalaxmi/Worli/Prabhadevi etc) which i covered in a day!!!

Tomorrows gonna be not just another day but another day of learning!!!
:)
